Description

Background "THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF RFP ISSUANCE. The 88th Air Base Wing Environmental Management (88ABW/EM) office anticipates a competitive acquisition for services to provide for a recovery and recycling process (RRP) for Government supplied depleted uranium (DU) items, to include aircraft counterweights (various sizes and weights), and non-explosive munitions. The work would require a RRP established by the contractor outside the premises of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to accept DU in various forms and process it in a manner for reuse. Any metal associated with the recycling process that cannot be recovered or recycled shall be disposed of in accordance with the terms and conditions of a license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and/or Agreement State and the laws of the state. All sources capable of providing these services are being sought. In addition to the information provided below entitled ""Capabilities Package""; responding parties must also indicate their size status in relation to the applicable North American Industry Classification System Code 562211 -- ""Radioactive Waste Treatment Facilities"". Only companies, including their affiliates, with an average annual receipt of $6,000,000.00 or less during the last three (3) completed fiscal years are considered small. Sources with 8(a) status or otherwise classified as small disadvantaged businesses would state so accordingly in their response. CAPABILITIES PACKAGE: All interested firms should submit a capabilities package that outlines the firm's experience and capabilities in providing all of the above mentioned services. The capabilities package should be brief and concise, yet clearly demonstrate an ability to meet the stated requirements. The responses must not exceed 20 single-spaced, 10-point typed pages.
