Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Coherent Laser Group, 5100 Patrick Henry Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054 under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for an upgrade of NIST Coherent Laser model no. 899-01 to a Coherent Laser model no. 899-21 stabilized laser. NIST laboratory requires a highly stabilized, continuous wave laser source to be used for present project in the Spectral Irradiance and Radiance Responsivity Calibrations using Uniform Sources (SIRCUS) laboratory. Coherent Laser Group shall upgrade NIST present laser to actively-stabilize the 899-21 laser by providing the following: 1) Add Brewster galvo. 2) Add thermally stabilized reference cavity. 3) Add PZT optic. 4) Add intracavity etalon, which is actively controlled and thermally stabilized. 5) Provide an electronics control box. Coherent Laser Group is the only source who can provide the upgrade that will achieve linewidths of 500kHz as measured internally using the control box provided (899021 laser). Required delivery 10 week ARO. FOB Gaithersburg, MD. The contractor shall provide 1 set of operational and maintenance manuals. The Contractor must be able to meet all the specifications stated herein. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by September 22, 2000 will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
