Description

NUWC Division Newport intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with RD Instruments of San Diego, CA under FAR 6.302, for the design and fabrication of a special purpose Correlation Sonar Transceiver. The item will be custom-modified from a COTS/custom Transceiver, currently being designed and built under Office of Naval Research Broad Agency Announcement 99-025, to accommodate installation and operation in a flat-hull Unmanned Undersea Vehicle platform. Documentation such as Level III drawings to allow for competition do not exist. The system must utilize the same design baseline as the ONR system to assure compatibility with Government-developed and supplied processing and processing components.
