Description
The Maritime Administration is seeking qualified sources capable of providing full support as the manager of a shipboard -- water chemistry treatment program. The program should encompass the following major components: High pressure boiler and feedwater treatment, diesel engine coolant treatment, evaporation/distiller treatment sewage treatment, salt water treatment, scale removal and bilge cleaning. Qualified sources must be capable of providing; all chemicals, laboratory testing, and analysis services; shipboard training, shipboard test kits, logbooks and manuals, automated tracking/monitoring of all services, product inventory, reports and funding. Services must be available on a worldwide basis 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, to support the Ready Reserve Fleet (RRF) vessels activated for national defense purposes or military exercise. Qualified sources must have a proven background of providing services of the type identified to the commercial marine industry. A pre-proposal conference is tentatively scheduled for 4 October 2000. Should an award be made, as a result of this solicitation, it shall be for a base year with four (4)one year options.
