Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure on a sole source basis from McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. sustaining support services related to airframe engineering changes under the AV-8B Harrier II Plus program, and sustaining support for configuration management, logistical support, and engineering support. The program is a joint undertaking of the United States Marine Corps, Italian Navy and Spanish Navy. This action will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with MDC under the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source. MDC is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the aircraft. The intended contract is a follow-on to Contract Number N00019-98-C-0083. This is for information only. See Note 22.
