- The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) has posted on its web site the Draft Request for Proposal (Draft RFP) for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Support Services -- Global II (DSS -- G II). The DSS -- G II acquisition has now been divided up into two separate Draft RFPs. One speciffically as a small business set-a-side and the other for all interested parties. The Draft RFPs contain Sections A-M, Statement of Work, associated Task Orders, and the Labor Category List. It was placed on the DITCO web page 11 September 2000. To access the DSS -- G II Draft RFP, go to the web page at http://www.ditco.disa.mil, click on "Contracting Opportunities", then click on "Browse Opportunities", and then click on "ARFP/RFQ/RFB/RFI" (Description). The Draft RFP for the small business set-a-side will be listed under its RFP number RFP # DCA200-00-R-5023 and The Draft RFP for all interested parties will be listed under its RFP number RFP # DCA200-00-R-5032. The Draft RFPs describes the overall performance requirements, initial task orders, labor categories, technical services, logistical support, and other required functions necessary to provide support services for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). The draft RFPs are published in order to open and encourage a two-way exchange of information between potential offerors and the Government and to provide potential offerors and other interested parties in the commercial industry sector an opportunity to view and comment on the Government's current concept for procuring support services for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). The Government is very interested in and is seeking comments from the commercial sector on the content and comprehensiveness of the Draft RFP's. Commercial industry's comments can be e-mailed to the DSS-GII acquisition team at the following e-mail address: DSSGII@ncr.disa.mil. Information concerning the current DSS -- G contract can be found on the Defense Information Systems Agency home page at http://www.disa.mil/d4/diioss/dssg. Additionally, the purpose of this announcement is to reannounce the industry conference which is scheduled for 20 September 2000 at the Maritime Instituted of Technology in the vicinity of the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. Registration for this conference are required no later than 15 September 2000 and further instructions are posted on the DITCO web site. Interested industry offerors are advised to carefully review the special instructions which will be posted with the Draft RFP as they will contain information on submitting industry comments on the Draft RFP back to the Government, information on the upcoming presolicitation conference, and other important information particular to this acquisition. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THE DRAFT RFP OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THE DRAFT RFP. ALL inquiries regarding the DSS -- G II RFP shall be submitted electronically to the DSSGII team e-mail address as stated above. It is contemplated that Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition will be 8711, Engineering Services for Military and Aerospace Equipment and Military Weapons. The associated North American Industrial Classification System Code is 541330. The small business size standard is $20 Million. The small business size standard for a concern which submits an offer in its own name, other than on a construction or service contract, but which proposes to furnish a product which it did not itself manufacture, is 500 employees. ***** LLLL
