- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has a requirement for a forensic examiner to conduct examinations on electronic devices. The major objective of the service is to conduct forensic examinations on various commercial electronic devices which are received in conjunction with criminal and foreign counter intelligence (FCI) investigations. The devices are received from all levels of federal and local law enforcement agencies. The devices include electronic organizers, personal digital assistants, pagers, cellular telephones, fax machines, ground positioning systems, and digital satellite receivers. Qualified candidates shall have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least seven (7) years experience at a law enforcement laboratory conducting electronic device examinations. Place of performance is Quantico, Virginia, or sites throughout the United States where examinations are required. If testimony is required in a court of law, the contractor will be required to travel and testify as to the results of his/her examination. Travel expenses will be borne by the contractor, and will be reimbursed pursuant to Federal Travel Regulations. This will be a labor hours type contract with fixed rates for a base year and four (4) additional option years. It is estimated that 1896 annual work hours will be required for this requirement, excluding holidays. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541380. The potential contractor must be capable of being cleared at the top secret level.
