Description

The Defense Language Institute/Presidio of Monterey will be hosting their Fall technology Exposition on Wednesday, September 27, 2000. This event will be promoted to all 750 Defense Language Institute personnel, Army and DoD. DLI's mission is to provide foreign language instruction in support of national security requirements to support and evaluate command language programs worldwide, to conduct academic research into the language learning process; and to administer a worldwide, standard test and evaluation system. The Institute which is accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges had an enrollment about 2,500, nearly all of it from the four military services. It plays a key role in providing skilled linguist for the military and teaches foreign languages to other Department of Defense agencies and also to the FBI, NASA, DEA, the US Border Patrol and many law enforcement agencies.
