Description

The principal components of the work are as follows: 1) Excavating a portion of the top of dam and downstream embankment and stockpiling removed materials; 2) Excavating at the downstream toe of the dam; 3) Constructing stability berm at the downstream toe of the dam; 4) Constructing HDPE toe drain and outfalls, excavating notch in Forelle limestone, and constructing Forelle drain and outfall; 5) Placing embankment material on the downstream face of the dam; 6) Abandoning existing instrumentation by removal or grouting, protecting existing instrumentation, extending existing instrumentation, and furnishing and installing instrumentation including embankment measurement points, flumes, inclinometers, and shear strips; 7) Realigning access road to gatehouse, placing roadway embankment and gravel surfacing, erecting prefabricated bridge canal crossing and guardrail, and placing aggregate base course deck surfacing; 8) Seeding disturbed areas; and 9) Constructing cast-in-place reinforced concrete retaining wall. The price range for this work is $10,000,001 to $25,000,000. The period of performance for this contract will be 600 days from the date of notice to proceed. The work is situated at Horsetooth Dam, approximately 4 miles west of Fort Collins, Colorado, in Larimer County. The bid opening date is tentatively scheduled for November 28, 2000 at the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana. There is no charge for the first copy of this solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each set. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge at the Great Plains Regional Office, or the following locations: Horsetooth Field Office, 1093 North County Road 23, Fort Collins, Colorado, or Eastern Colorado Area Office, 11056 West County Road 18E, Loveland, Colorado. All reasonable sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 1629 and the small business size standard is $17.0 Million.
