The pumps shall be similar and equal to the ABS Company Model AFP 6002-M2200-l2. The salient characteristics of the designated make and model are: 2.1 Pump. Electric submersible, single stage, centrifugal operating on 460/480 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle, AC current. The motor shall be air filled and be watertight. Pump shall have capacity of not less than 5000 GPM at an 85-foot total dynamic head and not less than 17000 GPM at a 45-foot total dynamic head. The pump shall be capable of operating satisfactorily for indefinite periods at zero static head without damage. 2.1.1 The pump motor and motor housing shall be of a special design for submersible pumps of this type. The motor windings shall be completely encapsulated against water and oil. The rotor shaft shall be equipped with ball or roller bearings. The bearings shall be of sufficient design to take all thrust and dead load imparted to them during operation. All seal, motor, and housings shall be Gray Iron No. 30. 2.1.2 The pump shall have a steel assembly which consists of an upper and lower seal that prevents the pumping media from entering the bearings and motor windings. Both seals shall operate in oil. The upper seal shall have a tungsten carbide (or equal) wearing surface. The oil reservoir shall have the necessary plugs in the exterior housings for quickly checking or draining the reservoir(s) without disassembly of the pump. Pump shall be capable of operating indefinitely in dry without injury to the pump or motor windings. All internal nuts and bolts in contact with the pumping media shall be stainless steel. Shall have two silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) in a reverse parallel (back-to-back) configuration per phase. These SCRs will be mounted in a power pole with its own firing circuitry which is connected to the starter by a single connector. The power poles will be- held in place by two bolts and shall be Underwriters Laboratory listed. The combination solid state reduced voltage starter shall have standard features of current limit, energy saving and acceleration ramp time. Motor protection shall consist of the use of solid overloads, shorted SCR detection, and phase lose L1, L2, L3 and have a shorting contactor for "up-to-speed" operation. The additional pilot devices to be mounted on the door of the enclosure are one on-off push button (momentary), one green power-on and one red motor run. 2.1.5 Three (3) sets of specification data, pump curves, operating instructions and parts lists shall be furnished with each pump. 2.1.6 Each bidder shall be required to furnish descriptive literature of all equipment bid. 2.1 .7 Successful bidder shall warrant the product to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of twelve (12) months. 2.1.8 The pumps specified herein shall be delivered within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after receipt of signed copy of contract.
