- Contractor shall provide to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center which is seeking request for quotes to provide 1 each Storm Model 840 Work Station, 1 each Molecular Dynamics Personal Densitometer SI & IQNT (model PDSI-PC) and 2 Storm Screens model MD146-808. Workstation and Densitometer will be used by the Research Department at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item, prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not requested; and written solicitation will not be issued. Required system shall be brand name or equal to the Amersham Pharmacia Biotech 840 WKSTN, PDSI-PC Densitometer and MD146-808 Storm Scrn, Cassettes 8x10. Workstation will have minimum of 32 MB RAM, Gel and blot analysis system for storage phosphor screens, chemifluorescence and blue direct fluorescence samples. Accepts storage phosphor screens, mounted and unmounted, up to 35 x 43 cm. Includes ImageQuant for Windows, NT, Fragment Analysis and scanner control software for use with Windows NT, plus one 20 x 25 cm unmounted screen and cassette. ImageEraser, SCSI cable and terminator. User's Guide and one year warranty. ImageQuant Workstation consists of Dell Pentium II 400 MHz Mini Tower System, 64 MB SDRAM, 8 GB or larger UATA/EIDE hard disk drive, 30x or faster variable CD-ROM drive, AGP video adapter with 4MB or larger video RAM, 17" SVGA Monitor, PCI SCSI interface card, and 3COM Fast Etherlink, 10/100 Base-TX network Adapter Includes Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Office Small Business Edition software, ImageQuant for Windows NT software and Fragment Analysis for Windows NT software. Workstation must integrate between a densitometer and phosphoimager/fluorescence detector and use Windows operatio system, download data to Windows applications. Warranty shall begin on date of acceptance by the VA. The Densitomter SI is a Laser-based imaging densitometer system that accepts wet or dry samples up to 20 x 25 OM. Must have a linear range from 0 to 3.5 O.D. and 4096 levels of O.D. descrimination for faint-band detection and High spatial resolution with 50-micron laser spot size. Includes ImageQuant Image analysis software for Windows NT. Also includes on 20 x 25 unmounted storage phosphor screen and exposure cassette, Imageeraser, SCSI cable and terminator, user's guide and One Year Warranty. Warranty shall begin on date of acceptance by the VA. 2 each Storm Screen, Cassettes, 8x10, 20 x 25 CM unmounted screen & cassette: Small unmounted screen & Cassette This General purpose (GP) screen can be used with all isotopes and is the best choice for P32 and I125. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and incidentals to install provided system. Provide training for technical staff appropriate to the complexity of the system as well as training for biomedical support personnel. System shall be 100% Y2K compliant.
