Description

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to award a sole source contract with FileNET Corporation, to acquire software support for the FileNET document management software suite used by the NRC for the Agency-Wide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is a customized document management system, with a FileNET integrated document management (IDM) foundation. It is comprised of a distributed IDM document services system with two WAN nodes. The software support is required to implement specific upgrades/migration to the current versions of the software and to implement operational configuration changes to improve operational efficiency, stability, and reliability. The period of performance for the contract is 24 months. This support can only be provided by FileNET due to the proprietary nature of the software source code, logic, diagrams/manuals, and schematics. Interruption in these services would impact the NRC's ability to use ADAMS to retrieve Agency records vital to regulatory decision making and would restrict public access to Agency documents.
