Description

Western Area Power Administration is seeking a firm to remove trees and brush under high voltage power lines in Northern California. The specific work includes: Round Mountain-Cottonwood 230-kV line near Millville and Anderson, CA, Structure 31/1 -- 31/2: Trim trees for 30-foot conductor clearance. Remove all brush. Kimberly Road, Anderson, CA. Structure 20/2 -- 20/3: Trim oak trees for 30-foot conductor clearance. Remove all brush. Structure 19/5 -- 20/1: Trim oak trees for 30-foot conductor clearance. Remove all brush. Brookdale Road, Millville, CA. Check with landowner for access. Structure 29/1: Remove large oak tree. Leave wood lay. Chip brush and scatter brush. Dersch Road, Anderson, CA. Captain Jack-Olinda 500-kV. Structure 613 -- 614, Anderson, CA Trim for 30-foot conductor clearance. Remove all brush. Kimberly Road, Anderson, CA. Remove all trees within 160-foot right-of-way. Cut oak wood into 16-18" firewood lengths and leave lay. Haul away pine wood. Cut stumps to 6 inches or less. Chip brush and scatter chips. Clear 50-foot radius around towers for access. No mechanical clearing. All work must be done by November 1, 2000. Only sources licensed in the State of California for tree removal under high voltage lines are acceptable. Sources must have proof of insurance and be approved by Western's Safety Manager. This is a small business set-aside using simplified acquisition procedures. Wage decision 77-0727 applies, latest version. A copy of the solicitation will be provided in response to fax requests sent to fax (916) 985-1933.
