Description

The VA Medical Center, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428, intends to negotiate a sole source contract to expand the current MDI Security System with Acree-Daily Corporation, Columbus, OH 43081. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A)(B), the Government is negotiating directly with Acree Daily to perform this service. Expansion is required to secure 9 storage freezers, with eltromagnetic locks and proximity card readers to the access doors. Award to any other source would result in a substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. This award will be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. No solicitation will be made available. This notice of intent is not a request for Quotes. The anticipated award date is September 22, 2000. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquires will not be accepted.
