Description

DOC, NOAA's Western Administrative Support Center, has a requirement for an indefinite quantity contract for acoustic/release transponders, with a maximum quantity of 60 each and a minimum quantity of 5 each over the life of the contract. Proposed acoustic/release transponders must be 100% compatible with EG&G 8011 Acoustic Command Deck unit. Proposed units, at a minimum, shall have a load capacity of 5000 kg, shall operate at depths of 6000 meters, weight in air shall not be greater than 40 kg, and shall have a battery life of two years with 40,000 replies. The length shall not exceed 1 meter with a working range of 10 km. Acoustic commands shall enable, disable, release and spare, with interrogation frequency of 9 or 11 kHz. Reply frequency 7.5 to 15 kHz to 500 Hz increments. Delivery will be 45 days after placement of each order. The period of performance shall be for 12 months, with options for two additional one-year option periods. This procurement will be conducted as a Request for Proposals. The Government will issue the solicitation and any amendments electronically via the Internet. Potential offerors may obtain the solicitation and amendments at http://www.wasc.noaa.gov/wasc/AMD/indxsol.htm. The solicitation and any amendments will also be available in hard copy upon request. Release of the solicitation will be on or about October 20, 2000, with proposals submitted in hard copy by responsible sources to be considered by the agency. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. See Note #1.
