Description

NASA/HQ plans to issue a competitive 8(a) solicitation on or about November 9, 2000, for continued operational support services to be performed at the NASA Headquarters facility located in Washington, D.C. This requirement is a follow-on to Contract NASW-4974 with NCI Information Systems. The contractor will be responsible for the following: library operations, archival support, document services, information services, mail operations, public inquiries, printing and graphics services, duplicating services, custodial services, moving services, electrical/handyman services, audio-visual support, and representational facility operations. The Government contemplates a cost-plus-award-fee contract with a total duration of five (5) years which includes a one year basic and four (4) one-year option periods. NOTE: Custodial functions will be performed under a directed subcontract by a community rehabilitation program under the authority of the Javits-Wagner O'Day Program and The Committee for Purchase from People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled. Prior to the release of the formal solicitation, a draft solicitation will be released for industry comment on or about September 29, 2000. The provisions and clauses in the RFP are those in effect through FAC 97-18 . The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This procurement is a 100% set-aside for SBA-certified, 8(a) small business. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8744 and $20 million, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal upon release of the formal RFP which shall be considered by the agency. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
