Description
The Marrow Foundation (R) and the National Marrow Donor Program (R) are pleased to announce that applications for the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars Program will be available September 5, 2000. This research program is directed toward scientists and clinicians early in their careers and is intended to advance the understanding of events occurring after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantations. The program is dedicated to the memeory of Amy Strelzer Manasevit and is made possible through the generosity and commitment of her family and friends. Requirements and Conditions of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars Program: (1) The research proposal must address issues arising after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. (2) Proposals may describe clinical investigations, translational research or basic laboratory investigations. (3) Awards will be made for a maximum of $240,000 in research support divided over three years. (4) Applicants will possess a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) within the past twelve years (after January 14, 1989). (5) The Awards Committee will review proposals and select two Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars who will be announced during the 2001 Tandem BMT Meetings (IBMTR/ABMTR and ASBMT) in Keystone, Colorado, February 15-19, 2001. For planning purposes, a letter of intent is requested on or before October 30, 2000. Completed applications must be received on or before November 15, 2000.
