Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate with ASPG, Inc., 3185 Horseshoe Drive South, Naples, FL 34104 on a sole-source basis to purchase the software upgrade for product WizDom (formerly known as Date/2000). This software product is proprietary and is mandatory for the execution of production and test programs used to conduct the daily data processing requirements at SSA's National Computer Center located in Woodlawn, MD. SSA has a need for this upgrade to be transferred from System 71 (Hitachi Skyline 825, Serial Number 360056, 780 MIPS) to the higher level mainframe new System 71 (Hitachi Skyline 827, Serial Number to be announced), 975 MIPS). The following provisions at FAR 52-212-1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items (tailored) applies to this acquisition: (b)1-(b)9, (b)11, (c), and (g). There is no addendum to these provisions. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the provision at FAR 52-212-3, Offerors Representation and Certification-commercial items, with their pricing. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. Addendum to FAR 52-212-4(o) warranty: add, "The Government will accept the contractors commercial warranty." The following provisions at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition: (a)(1), (a)(2), (b)(11), through (b)(15), (b)(23), and (b)(24). This is neither a request for quotations nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. Faxed responses will not be permitted. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to WIZDOM. If after September 21, 2000, no viable responses have been received, SSA shall issue a modification under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to ASPG, Inc.
