Description
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, intends to award on a sole source basis, a task order contract to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HMJF) for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Rockville, MD., to provide personnel, supplies, equipment, and all services necessary for support of the U.S.Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM) and USUHS Center for Ergonomics and Workplace Health (CEWH)in accomplishment of its mission to conduct research into ergonomics and worklplace health issues. Two initiatl studies/projects will be conducted under the first two task orders: (1) Marine Corps Study on Prevalence, Patterns and Burdens of Occuipational Musculoskeletal Disorders and (2)Predictors of Occupational Back Pain and the Ergonomics Demonstration Project. This contract is for non-commercial R&D support sevices and will be cost-reimbursement with an initial estimated value of $100,000. The period of performance will be five years. USACHPPM has requested the assistance of the CEWH under a memorandum of understanding between USUHS and USCHPPM. This contract is being awarded in accordance with statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition at 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), "Authorized or Required by Statute." The proposed procurement is in compliance with Public Law 92-426, entitled: Uniformed Service Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1983 and 10 U.S.C 178 and 2113(j)(1)(A) which authorizes USUHS to award contracts on a sole source basis to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation.
