Description

This is NOT a request for quotations. The U.S. Department of Transportation, Research and Special Programs Administration, Office of Hazardous Materials Safety, intends to award a sole source contract using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to the University of Central Florida (UCF). UCF will perform a detailed harzard and risk analysis on the use of pressure relief devices (PRDs) on compressed gas cylinders. The objective of the study is to quantity the risks associated with the transporation and storage of compressed and liquefied gases in cylinders fitted with PRDs. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1)as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1. This is a Firm Fixed Price contract and the term of the contract is estimated to be one year. No other price quotes or proposals will be accepted for this project. See Numbered Note 22.
