- Description
- The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates approximately 170 computer rooms across the CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. These computer rooms house equipment that operates the Veterans Integrated Software Technology Architecture (VistA). VistA has become a mission critical component in providing quality health care to veterans. VA requires maintenance and helpdesk support for all components and software used to operate and access VistA. This maintenance exceeds just break/fix and requires maintaining any and all information technology components including workstations, servers, disaster recovery, network components, software, and licensing. Helpdesk support includes 24 hour a day, 365 day a year remote telephone support and on-site support when necessary or requested. The helpdesk responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: COTS application support, configuration support, configuration engineering, configuration design, compatibility testing, software testing, training, problem analysis, network design, network problem analysis, troubleshooting, VA developed application support, capacity planning, capacity monitoring, technology evaluation, and general IT analysis. Expansion of help desk responsibilities may grow as new technology utilized to support VistA is implemented. VA is seeking industry comments and input on our requirement for maintenance and helpdesk support. This requirements document can be found at WEBSITE-ADDRESS. Please provide comments and input to Robert Beaty, Department of Veterans Affairs, 810 Vermont Ave (93A3), Washington, DC 20420 or by e:mail to Robert.beaty@mail.va.gov before close of business September 29, 2000.
