- Description
- The US Army at Fort Bragg, NC, has a requirement for operation and maintenance of the Classified Material Destruction Facility (CMDF) at Fort Bragg, for the period 1 December 2000 through 30 November 2001 (plus 4 one-year options). This CMDF is the only such type US Army Forces Command installation-level destruction facility on the East Coast which processes a combined total of approximately 10,000 lbs of classified/sensitive materials per week, which includes but is not limited to, Privacy Act data, For Official Use Only, and Personal in Nature, etc. The CMDF support includes destruction by incineration, pulverization, and shredding of classified/sensitive materials. The Contractor shall open the facility at 0730 hours, Monday through Friday; instruct customers in the proper use and care of the shredding, pulverizing, and incinerating equipment; ensure that materials are on hand each day; perform daily/weekly maintenance of equipment; ensure that customers comply with all posted and special safety requirements (used of protective eyewear, hearing muffs, maintenance of bagging hopper, etc) but Contractor is NOT responsible for the actual destruction of classified material. This requirement is 100% setaside for small business. Contractor shall be required to obtain a SECRET Facilities Clearance and individual employees shall have a SECRET Security Clearance. Upon release to the public, solicitation will be available via the Internet at website: www.bragg.army.mil/www-doc/SOLICIT.htm and the actual bid opening date and hour will be annotated in the solicitation. All contractors doing business with the Government are required to be registered with Central Contractor Registration (CCR). CCR registration may be conducted at www.ccr2000.com. For determining business size on this project, Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 7389/$5.0 million. SEE Notes 1 AND 26.
