- Description
- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, intends to award a task order contract on a sole source basis, to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HMJF) for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Rockville, MD, to provide personnel, supplies, equipment, and all services necessary for support of the USUHS Casualty Care Research Center (CCRC) in accomplishment of its mission to provide a Hazardous Material (HAZMAT)Response Unit (HMRU) for operational and emergency medicine for hazardous materials response to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other Government Agencies. This contract is for non-commercial support services with an initial estimated value is $100,000 and the contract period of performance will be for five years. The FBI has requested the assistance of the CCRC under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between USUHS and the FBI. This contract is being awarded in accordance with statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition at 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), "Authorized or Required by Statute." The proposed procurement is in compliance with Public Law 92-426, entitled "Uniformed Service Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972" and 10 U.S.C. 178 and 2113(j)(1)(A) which authorizes USUHS to award contracts on a sole source basis to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. See Note 22.
