Description
The work includes the renovation of an existing building to provide 28 new dormitory rooms, a culinary arts vocational facility with dining area, a security vocational area, an employability center with classrooms and offices, electrical vocational and recreational space at the Denison Job Corps Center, located in Denison Iowa. The gross square footage for the project is approximately 40,000 square feet. The work includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and structural repairs. There is also some site work required. The estimated period of performance is approximately 400 calendar days. The cost range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on or about October 11, 2000, only from the office of Kenneth Hahn Architects, Inc., 1342 South 75th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68124-1610. Contact Mr. Hahn (402) 319-2111 for additional information regarding this project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing and a $100 bid deposit is required which is refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good condition. The bid deposit must be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to Kenneth Hahn Architects at the time of request. All requests will be answered on a first-come, first serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer) plus a shipping charge based on individual requests (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. A Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for October 25, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. local time at the center. Bid opening date is November 14, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. local time at the A/E office. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside Acquisition. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 1542 with a Size Standard of $27.0. See Number Note(s): 1.
