Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for one (1) Solamere Technology Group Confoca Unit and one (1) Solamere Technology Group C-Mount Adapter, as per specifications below. 1. Shall be based on the dual spinning Nipkow disk technique, having collection lenses to efficiently couple light to the scanning apertures. 2. Shall have coatings optimized for use with a 532 nm laser illumination source. 3. Shall have all mounts and adapters needed to couple to a Leica DM-RX and DM-IRB microscope's C-mount imaging port. 4. Shall have all mounts and adapters needed to couple output to a C-mount array camera. 5. Shall provide a synchronization signal for an NTSC camera. 6. Shall be powered by 120VAC. 7. Shall have a package envelope no greater than 150 X 210 X 210 mm. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Solamere Technology Group, 1427 Perry Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT 84103. Due to compatibility issues, this equipment must be purchased from the afforementioned in order to be compatible with existing equipment. Since there is already some of this equipment at GRC, to our knowledge there are no other known suppliers of this exact equipment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Kevin Tesler at the NASA Glenn Research Center, 21000 Brookpark Road, MS 500-319, Cleveland, OH 44135, or fax to (216) 433-2480, no later than 4:30 pm local time on 9/19/2000, NO EXCEPTIONS. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
