Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to non-competitively procure support to modify and expand the Combustion Research and Flow Technology, Inc. (CRAFT) code under solicitation N00178-00-Q-1052. The acquisition is being fulfilled through other than full and open competition with Combustion Research and Flow Technology, Inc., 174 N. Main Street, P. O. Box 1150, Dublin, PA 18917. The required effort will include modifications to the CRAFT code in order to provide new capabilities, assistance in implementation of the code (both existing and modified) to specific problems and application of the code to specific problems. Support requires an individual possessing a Master's Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a concentration in Computational Methods (preferably Computational Fluid Dynamics) and Heat Transfer. The Government will have unlimited rights to the use of all work products developed under the resultant order. The support is for a period of one year with efforts performed both at the contractor's facility and at NSWCDD. At the completion of this effort, the contractor (in its own format) will provide a comprehensive report detailing the tasks performed and results obtained. Simplified Acquisition Procedures are being used for this combined synopsis/solicitation. The Government will not issue a written request for quotation as all items are identified in this Commerce Business Daily (CBD) notice. The closing date is 21 September 2000. The anticipated award date is 25 September 2000. The comprehensive reports will occur one-year after award with its delivery to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5100.
