- Description
- The 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg AFB, CA, is soliciting offers to strip, paint and refurbish two static display missiles. The Contractor is to provide all labor, tools, parts, materials, transportation, equipment support including occupational safety devices and plans, and supervision necessary to complete this service. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information as included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is F04684-00-T1096 and will be issued as a request for quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-19. The NAIC code is 332812 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is 100% small business set-aside. There is one line item as follows: Line Item 001 -- Qty (2) ea -- strip, paint and refurbishment of static missile display approximate size of 5.5 feet diameter at the widest part, and a height of 60 feet by removing the present top coating, a 2 part polyurethane and all subsequent layers of coatings types unknown, down to the base material with a high pressure water system, contain and dispose of all hazardous materials, repair any damaged surfaces of either steel or aluminum and perform corrosion treatments as necessary, seal all joints (minimum of 7 joints around the circumference of each missile) to prevent water entry and repaint surface to match original color of white. Final finish coat must have a 10 yr life cycle warranty and should be applied by roller. Reproduce and replace all vinyl graphics. Crests and shield designs will be made available upon award, all lettering must be copied by the contractor. See photos attached at EPS.gov. Completion of service under this solicitation will be no later than 60 days after receipt of the order. A site visit is scheduled for 20 Sep 00, at 10:30 a.m. Due to the nature of this project, it is highly recommended that all offerors attend the site visit. All bidders who plan to attend the site visit, must submit the names of personnel from your firm, no later than close of business 19 Sep 00. The provisions at FAR 52.212-2, "Evaluation-Commercial Items" apply to this acquisition. This service will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.0. Offerors must submit a completed copy of the provisions at FAR 52.212-3, "Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items." The clause at FAR 52.212-4, "Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items" applies to this acquisition. DFARS clauses are incorporated in this solicitation with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The DFARS clause 252.212-7000, "Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items" applies to this acquisition.
