- Description
- NEW SPACE WARFARE CENTER LONG TERM ACQUISITION STRATEGY APPROACH The Space Warfare Center (SWC) has finalized a strategy for a long-term acquisition approach that focuses on building a stable management team in addition to addressing specific statements of work. The approach will consist of awarding a contract to a single prime contractor who will be responsible for performing non-personal operations support, integration, systems engineering, and other space application efforts for the SWC and other AF, DoD, and government agency programs. The contract will be structured similar to the existing SWC Operational Support Contract. It is contemplated that the contract will be a Cost-Type Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with one basic year and up to seven one-year priced options. Market research will be performed, including capability briefings, to determine if this effort can be set-aside for small business under SIC Code 8731. The RFP will incorporate/integrate the functions of SWC DO/AE/XR/CT and 17TS. It is anticipated that the contract will start on 01 Oct 01 with a 30 to 60 day phase-in period. The solicitations originally contemplated under the GSA Schedule for SWC Operations Support and Information Services will now be performed through a one-year extension to the existing SWC/OS Contracts. Since the Professional Engineering Services and Operational Space Support (PESOSS) was contemplated for multiple award contracts, this vehicle is no longer valid for the new single integrated contractor approach. After a determination has been made by 50 CONS as to whether this effort will be set aside for small business, a sources sought synopsis will be published through the EPS. All questions regarding this acquisition should be directed to the Contracting Officer, Mr. Robert Wind at (719) 567-3811 (e-mail robert.wind@schriever.af.mil).
