Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole source, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity, Firm-fixed price contract with Remington Arms Company, Inc., Madison, North Carolina, under Request for Quote (RFQ) Number 808341. This type of contract provides for the furnishing of an indefinite quantity, within the stated limits from the date of award of this contract for 12 months with four, one-year renewal options. Each one-year option period will begin on the anniversary date of the contract award. During the contract period the FBI shall order a guaranteed minimum of CLIN #1) 600 each, 14" modified choke police barrels; and, CLIN #2) one (1) each, 14" modified cantilevered barrels. The offeror shall furnish the stated minimum, and as ordered, any additional quantities of Remington barrels which may not exceed a maximum quantity of 6,000 each for CLIN #1 and CLIN #2, over the life of the contract. The Government shall not be required to purchase from the successful offeror(s) any additional quantities after the initial guaranteed minimum. Obligation of funds and specific quantities will be ordered through individual delivery orders or through the Government Purchase Card program, issued during a Fiscal Year. The Remington Arms barrels to be ordered under this RFQ (as Brand Name) are proprietary to Remington Arms, and it has been determined that Remington Arms is the sole manufacturer. Purchasing these parts from the manufacturer ensures that the FBI does not breech any warranty agreements on the Remington shotguns. Based on market research it has been determined that this purchase is in accordance with Federal statutes, and that Remington Arms Company, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of these barrels. These barrels are modified specifically for law enforcement agencies. FOB-Destination, Quantico, Virginia, 22135. Delivery shall be 45 days after receipt of order. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 10:00 AM, EDT, 9/29/2000, to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, FBI Academy, HRT Building, Quantico, Virginia, 22135, at facsimile (703) 632-1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
