Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer to include the following: ITEM 1: DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYZER, DMA 2980, TA INSTRUMENTS (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 2: THREE-POINT BENDING KIT FOR DMA 2980 (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 3: FILM AND FIBER TENSION KIT FOR DMA 2980 (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 4: SHEAR SANDWICH KIT FOR DMA 2980 (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 5: DUAL AND SINGLE CANTILEVER BENDING KIT FOR DMA 2980, LG (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 6: DUAL AND SINGLE CANTILEVER BENDING KIT FOR DMA 2980, SMALL (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 7: GAS COOLING ACCESSORY (GCA) FOR DMA 2980 (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 8: AIR COMPRESSOR ACCESSORY (ACA) FOR DMA 2980 (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 9: THERMAL ADVANTAGE OPERATING SOFTWARE UPGRADE (OR EQUIVALENT). QUANTITY: 1 EACH. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from TA Instruments, 109 Lukens Drive, New Castle, DE 19720. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 25, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
