- Description
- The U.S. Army TACOM ARDEC is looking for parties interested in the development, fabrication,and test of the next generation Breech Mounted Laser Ignition System (BMLIS) for the 155mm Crusader Cannon. The BMLIS consists of a Breech Mounted Laser head, a Laser Pulse Generator and electrical cabling. The entire system shall be designed, developed and fabricated to meet the performance criteria specified by the Crusader Laser Ignition Specification, to be provided. This is anticipated to be a two phased effort. During Phase I the contractor will design, develop, and fabricate four (4) systems. The systems will be tested to all of the induced and natural environments of the Crusader system including nuclear, biological, and chemical challenges. The second phase will address any design deficiencies and develop the manufacturing plans to support production evaluation. The contractor will be required to have the following processes in place: 1. Quality Management System 2. Configuration Management System 3. Reliability and Maintainability Process Control System 4. A system capable of reporting cost and schedule. All interested parties should provide a summary of their company's capabilities including a description of facilities, personnel, and previous experience in the laser arena.
