Description

This is a notice of intent to negotiate with MTS Systems Corporation, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-2290 on an other than full and open competition basis to purchase a service/ maintenance contract for existing mechanical test equipment used by the Mechanical Test Lab. The government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with MTS Systems Corporation, as they have proprietary rights on their testing systems and designs. They are the manufacturer of the many replacement components that are frequently replaced currently used by the Mechanical Test Lab. Any deviation from this would adversely effect the existing servo-hydraulic mechanical test equipment, which is used extensively, generally running 24 hours per day for several months at a time. Services to be performed at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD during the period 01 October 2000 to 30 September 2001. Written requests for copies of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) N00421-00-Q-0653 should be faxed to 301-757-8959 to the attention of Mary Broadhurst. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which will be considered by the agency. Clause 52.232-18 Availability of Funds (APR 1984) Funds are not presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer.
