Description

Sale for harvesting of selected hardwood and pine trees in Record Units #68, as specified in the Special Conditions of Sale. The sale consists of approximately 214 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 49,888 board feet Doyle Scale. The sale also includes approximately 2,533 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 394,520 board feet Doyle Scale and 10,485 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 781 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located approximately 117 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana as indicated on Map Drawings (to be provided) B01A-1 and B01A-2. Cutting to begin no later than 180 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. Timber harvesting will not be allowed during the 15-day annual modern firearm deer-hunting season for Barksdale Air Force Base. Anticipated issue date is 20 October 2000: anticipated opening date 22 November 2000. A 10% bid deposit will be required. The agency will consider bids from all responsible sources.
