Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a prime construction contractor to provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to correct cause(s) of concrete slab upheavals and repair existing concrete floor slabs in basement of Space Power Facility Bldg. 1411 at NASA Glenn Research Center, Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, Ohio. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 and the period of performance is April 1,2001 -- October 1, 2001. A fixed price contract is anticipated. This is an unrestricted procurement and all responsible sources may submit a sealed bid which will be considered by the Agency. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement is 1542 and $17 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 18, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 27, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids, a site-showing and directions to the site, where drawings and hard copies of the IFB can be obtained(at contractor's cost)will be contained in the IFB. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
