Description

This is a Request for Information (RFI). The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) desires comments on its draft Requirements Specification for a Voice Improvement enhancement to its existing NOAA Weather Radio Console Replacement System. In addition to general comments on the Draft Requirements Specification, respondents are requested to identify any cost drivers, and any requirements which add unnecessary complexity to the planned Voice Improvement system. A copy of the draft Requirements Specification for the Voice Improvement Program may be accessed on or after September 22, 2000, at the following web site: http://www.rdc.noaa.gov/~amd/SOLINDEX.HTML. All information submitted in response to this RFI must be received by October 9, 2000. Responses may be submitted in writing to the attention of Mr. William Voitk at the header address or by fax at (301) 713-0806. Additionally, cognizant Government personnel will be available to meet individually with parties interested in this requirement during the week of October 2, 2000, in Silver Spring, MD. Parties desiring to meet with the Government on this topic during that time, should contact Ms. Joanne Swanson at (301) 713-1867, Ext 130 to schedule the meeting. The Government would also welcome any demonstration software or system for longer evaluation, alone or provided with limited real or virtual integration with the Console Replacement System at the National Weather Service's Silver Spring test facility. The Government will not pay for information received in response to this RFI or for costs incurred in attending a meeting with Government personnel in connection with this RFI or for any other costs incurred in responding to this RFI.
