Description

Sol N00030-01-R-0040 available o/a 2 Nov 2000. SSP is conducting a full and open competition to select a contractor to develop a cruise missile launch system to replace the strategic missile launcher on-board TRIDENT class submarines. This effort is part of the initiative to convert four TRIDENT hulls from a strategic to a conventional mission. The initial engineering effort will provide SSGN launcher concept exploration, and program definition and risk reduction. The planned contract may include options for continued development and production. The solicitation will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce OnLine Web Page http://www.neco.navy.mil/. A pre-solicitation conference will be held at SSP on 19 Oct 2000, 10:00 A.M. A security clearance is required to attend.
