Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) is soliciting the following: Air Defense Communications Services (ADCS) for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The requirements include providing management, maintenance and repair, and logistics support of the existing, highly sophisticated and critical, communications systems and subsystems used in support of the NORAD. This work will involve two NORAD regions: The Continental United States (CONUS) and Alaska. CONUS is further divided into three Air Defense Sectors: (1) Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS), Sector Operations Control Center (SOCC) located at Rome, New York; (2) Southeast Air Defense Sector (SEADS) SOCC, located at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL, and (3) Western Air Defense Sector (WADS) SOCC, located at McChord Air Force Base, WA. This work may also include system improvements, upgrades and modifications (to include CONUS, Alaska and Hawaii), which will require engineering knowledge and experience. The contract period is for one base year with four one-year options. The anticipated release date of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is October 6, 2000, with a response date of November 30, 2000. A Preproposal Conference and Site Visit will be held October 25 and 26, 2000, at Tyndall AFB, FL. Written requests to attend this conference and site visit must be submitted in accordance with the directions provided in the RFP, and must be received no later than October 18, 2000. A reading room with related material is located at 164 Alabama Avenue, Tyndall AFB, Florida. The reading room is available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 0800 to 1120 and 1300 to 1630, Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays.
