Description
The USCG MLCP in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Dockside Repair of the USCGC WALNUT (WLB 205) at its homeport at Coast Guard Sand Island, Honolulu, in the State of Hawaii. Only the anticipated date for issuance of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) has been changed; the revised issue date is 30 October 2000. The IFB will be issued in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and will be posted electronically at www.fedbizopps.gov. Work will begin on 5 February 2001 and complete on 30 March 2001. Anticipated work items include: clean/inspect various designated tanks; auxiliary salt water system modification; calibration of tachometers, electric meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, pyrometers, and thermocouples; inspect and repair hydraulic chain stopper; inspect and test mechanical chain stoppers; inspect and test pad eyes; single point davit inspection and test; inspect and test buoy handling gear; preservation of exterior buoy decks; deck coverings interior wet seal. For Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
