Description
Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(1) the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation (MMRF), 914 South Eighth Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404 to participate under HSR&D grant entitled "Facilitating Shared Decision Making About Prostate Cancer Screening". This grant has been reviewed and approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs Merit Review Application system and is an ongoing study. MMRF will furnish continued technical assistance on the project with the refinement of a pamphlet intervention. Specificall, they will provide guidance on how to modify the pamphlet protocol to stimulate patient-provider discussions about prostate cancer screening. They will aso assist with the various process analyses planned by developing and analyzing measures of intervention exposure. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by September 30, 2000. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available. However, the Government will consider all interests received on or before September 30, 2000. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
