Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico, has a requirement for a service contract, to provide comprehensive Cardiovascular Surgery and Interventional Cardiology, to the beneficiaries of the Department, at the Medical Center's facilities. This solicitation is set aside for small businesses, SIC code 8069 and size $5.0, and award of a FIRM FIXED PRICE contract is anticipated. The period of performance under the contract is one year from October the 10th 2000 and two subsequent option years. Physicians must be citizens of the United States and possess a degree of doctor in medicine, resulting from a course of education in medicine from a school approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Must possess a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia, and a current registration for said license. In addition, physicians providing any of the cardiac services under this contract must be board certified in his/her specialty are by an American Board of Medical Specialties, and must apply for clinical privileges at the VAMC. The qualifications of such personnel will be subject to the Credentialing and Privileging process as stated in VHA Handbook 1100.19. Qualifications will also be subject to review by the VAMC's Chief of Staff, Professional Standards Board, and approval by the VAMC's Facility Director.
