- Description
- The Department of Justice, Procurement Services Staff intends to issue a solicitation for the Civil Division which will require the Contractor to assume the duties of the United States Central Authority in the processing and serving documents presently handled by the Department pursuant to the Hague Service Convention, the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, and Letters Rogatory from non-convention countries. The Contractor shall ensure that all of the personnel are properly trained and are experienced in the handling of process serving. The Contractor shall have a fully functional office in the continental United States to perform all the work necessary. While it is preferable for the Contractor to have an office in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, it is not required. The Contractor will be responsible for the geographical coverage for these tasks in the following areas: the United States, Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana. The anticipated contract will be for a base year of twelve (12) months, and will include four (4) options which could extend the performance of the contract for a total of 60 months. The solicitation will be issued on or about October 10, 2000 and will be distributed solely through the General Service Administration's electronic posting system (EPS) website: www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation document will NOT be available. The EPS web site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the EPS web site.
