- SCOPE OF REQUIREMENT: The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) requires, on an as needed basis, the facilities and services of qualified hotels in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for the base period of January 1 -- September 30, 2001 and for the option year of October 1, 2001 -- September 30, 2002. The OCC anticipates issuing a contract to a hotel in Washington, DC or Northern Virginia for an estimated maximum of 1000 room nights; a contract to a hotel in Washington, DC for an estimated maximum of 2500 room nights; and a contract to a hotel in Washington, DC or Northern Virginia for an estimated maximum of 3500 room nights. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: The hotel(s) must 1) be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990, 15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq, (Public Law 101-391) and hold a FEMA certification number; 2) be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et seq. (ADA); and 3) have one of the following ratings: First class or higher per the Official Hotel Guide; two stars or higher per the Mobil Travel Guide; three diamonds or higher per AAA; three crowns or higher per the OAG Business Travel Planner. HOW TO ACQUIRE A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION: OCC anticipates issuing the solicitation about the middle or end of October at www.eps.gov. The solicitation will contain the details of the rooms and services required, the instructions for submitting a quote, and how the quotes will be evaluated. This requirement will be procured using simplified acquisition procedures under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items in Subpart 13.5. All responsible hotels may submit a quote which shall be considered by the OCC. OCC anticipates awarding a contract about the end of December, 2000. *****
