Description

NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB for REPAIRS TO ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, BUILDINGS 1152, 1201, 1209, 1219, AND 1239. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to replacement of the following: Building 1152 -- 480V Unit Substation "A" primary switch, 500kVA transformer, secondary switchgear and each circuit breaker in the switchgear. Building 1152 -- 208V Unit Substation "B" primary switch, 300kVA transformer, secondary switchgear and each circuit breaker in the switchgear. Building 1201- 480V Unit Substation "A" primary switch, 500kVA transformer, secondary switchgear and each circuit breaker in the switchgear. Building 1201- 208V Unit Substation "B" primary switch. Building 1209- 480V Unit Substation primary switch, 500kVA transformer, secondary switchgear and each circuit breaker in the switchgear. Building 1219- 208V Unit Substation primary switch and 200kVA pad mount transformer. Building 1239- 34.5kV power circuit breaker. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $250,000 to $500,000, and the effort shall be completed within 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1629 and $27.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 9, 2000 with an anticipated bid closing date of on or about November 9, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 757-864-2547 (voice) or 757-864-2502 (fax). All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
