Description

This is a notice of intent to award on a sole-source basis for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a written solicitation will not be issued. The Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) intends to contract with NEC Technologies, Inc., 2200 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201 for the purchase of a Latent FW21 Fingerprint Workstation and Latent Examiner Software (including shipping and installation). The fingerprint workstation and software must be fully compatible with the Pennsylvania State Police Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and fully accepted and approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This contract is for supplies, which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with NEC under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 unless additional sources are located. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet the mandatory requirement stated above by contacting the Contracting Officer; all interested parties must contact the Contracting Officer no later than the close of business September 27, 2000. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
