Description

Project work provides for placement of approximately 1.3 million cubic yards on 4.25 miles of beach beginning at the Martin County Line. The project will contain a Base Bid and two optional bid items. The Base Bid work is located along the northernmost 3.75 miles of beach. Optional Bid Item A work is approximately 0.25 miles long south of the Base Bid, and Optional Bid item B work is an additional 1,200 feet south of Optional Bid Item A. The beach is to be constructed to have a berm width of 90 feet at Elevation 9.1 and protective dune vegetation elevation 13.6. The foreshore slope will be constructed on 1 vertical to 10 horizontal slope. The borrow area is located approximately 1.25 miles east-southeast of the project area. Magnitude of Construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Invitation for Bid will be issued on or about 10 October 2000 and open on or about 16 November 2000.
