Description

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation RFQ5-82692-907 for ClearCase Maintenance Renewal Software. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Rational Software as they are the originator or this software package and the only provider of the support for this software. This software package is used at the Earth Observing System Distributal Active Archive Centers (SAACs) for configuration management of software. The Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. 1. Rational Clearddts (4.5.1) UNIX-Floating Silver Support, Part Number 3602-08163, Period of Performance 10/01/00 thru 10/31/01, 7 each. 2. Standard Support Clearcase UNIX, Part Number 3600-08079, Period of Performance 11/01/00 thru 10/31/01, 40 each. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations have 21 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after 21 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
