Description

Solicitation N00421-00-Q-0680 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This action is not set aside for small business. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Cabletron Systems Sales and Service, Inc. for the software upgrade and technical maintenance support for Cabletron products under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. (Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements). Cabletron Systems Sales & Service, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of Cabletron products. Cabletron Systems Sales and Service, Inc. is also the sole manufacturer of all Cabletron products as well as the sole provider of all technical support services for all of its hardware and software products. Award is expected 27 September 2000. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 26 September 2000 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
