Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Offers using Best Value Selection for Repair Underpass Road Bridges. This project includes supervision, labor, material and consisting of mobilization, maintenance of traffic, replacement of eroded backfill, substructure concrete patching and crack repair, bridge superstructure, back wall, and approach slab demolition, construction of new bridge superstructures, back walls, and approach slabs, restoration of curbs, walks, pavement, pavement marking and seeding and mulching. Offerors Shall meet the Ohio Department Of Transportation pre-qualifications for Work Type 21: LEVEL 2 BRIDGE (5 DBE IN OHIO); Work Type 24: Structural Steel Erection (4 DBE IN OHIO); and Work Type 27: expansion & Contraction Joint, Joint Sealer, Bearing Devices (10 DBE IN OHIO). The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this procurement is 1622. The construction estimate is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT is contemplated. This work is considered "Construction by Special Trade Contractors" HEAVY HIGHWAY. The effort shall be completed within 210 calendar days or less after notice to proceed. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about October 02, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 13, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from a local blue printer listed in the RFO.All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
