Description

Note 1 -- The Dept. of Justice, subject to availability of funds, intends to purchase on a sole source basis using Simplified Acquisitions Procedures FAR Part 13 services from Richard Sheats as Community Resource Specialist for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Atlanta, GA to further the establishment of the Department's FACE 5 firearms violence reduction strategy; promulgate the objectives of the Department's Weed & Seed Program and Drug Education for Youth initiatives. The Contractor's duties include, but are not limited to (1) participating in the development and execution of strategic plans designed to coordinate community efforts addressing problems of crime, crime prevention, social service needs and economic development; (2) participating with law enforcement and/or community organization/committees to promote community policing; (3) participating with state, federal and local parole and probation officials to develop and implement FACE 5 objectives; (4) serve as investigative and community liaison as a member of the NDGA Crackhouse Initiative Program designed to decrease the number of crack houses in the District; and (5) organizing, coordinating and implementing the Abolish Chronic Truancy Program in collaboration with the Fulton County District Atty's Office. Responses will not be considered as either proposals or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
