This is a notice of intent to award a Sole Source purchase order to American Science and Engineering, Inc.of Billerica, MA, for maintenance and service on AS&E MICRO-DOSE X-ray Inspection Systems Equipment. This procurement is considered to be sole source for the following reason: propietary technology necessary to the operation of these systems and maintenance requiring qualified technicians, engineers, and service parts are not available from other vendors. AS&E is the sole source for these resources. Other sources that believe they can meet INS needs must furnish information and references to this office no later than 4:00PM on Sept 28,2000.
